Patterson on Australia’s
Chances.

AUCKLAND, April 7.
“ Our chances this year are better than they have been for a long time,”
said Gerald Patterson, the - former for the Davis Cup. Mr Patterson said regaining the Cup I ood. It was no t a one-man team, as Quist and M'Grath, on their present
form, were almost as good as Crawford. Mr Patterson referred with regret to the death of Jiro Satoh, who, he said, was probably the fourth greatest player Japan had produced.
Mr Patterson, who is on a business trip, will see most of the Australians’ matches in England.
