FRESHERS’ CLUB.
A Freshers’ Club was formed at Canterbury College last evening, when a number of first-year students met. Mr J. Robertson presided. It was decided that the name of the society should be Freshers’ Club and that social gatherings should be held once every three weeks. The meetings of the club would not be confined to dances, but hiking parties and picnics would be arranged. Officers elected were: President, Mr W. Kennedy; secretary-treasurer, Mr P. H. Blakiston; committee, Misses B. Williams, N. Hitchcock, C. Hunter, P. Bridges and L. Kingsbury.
