Trinity Club Will Open Hockey Season. The Trinity Hockey Club will open its 1934 season to-morrow afternoon, with practice games on the West Reclamation ground. Personal Captain F. Wyse, for many years Marine Superintendent in London for the Ellerman Line, and who retired about eight years ago, is a passenger by the City of Canberra, which arrived at Lyttelton yesterday from New York via ports. Captain Wyse visited Australia as a cadet in the sailing ships Thermopylae and Kosciusko, but this is his first visit to New Zealand. Captain T. Robinson, of the City of Canberra, which visited Lyttelton yesterday to discharge New York cargo, is accompanied by his wife on the vessel’s present voyage. Plainclothes Constable C. A. Jackways, who has been on a month’s holiday, has returned from Southland and resumed duty yesterday. Captain Baard Holt, Commander of the Ellsworth Expedition ship, Wyatt Earp, is visiting Lyttelton. This is Captain Holt’s first visit to Lyttelton. He arrived by car from Dunedin in company with Mr J. H. Duncan, of Tapley and Co.
