The “ Star’s ” London correspondent, writing on February 26, said:—“ It is good news that the Badies’ Golf Union sees its way to promote yet another Dominion tour. The success that attended the South African tour has prompted it to arrange a tour of Canada in the autumn. The outstanding event will be an international match at Toronto on September 15, and this will be followed by a match against the United States at Washington on September 27 and 28. All accounts agree that the tour recently undertaken in South Africa has given a great impetis to the game in that part of the world. That is precisely what the promoters aimed at. To some of the South Africans the long driving of the English players came as an absolute revelation. Owing to proximity to the United States, the game has made greater strides in Canada than in South Africa, but in tliis instance also the English visit will doubtlessly create a healthy spirit of rivalry.”
