Miss Peggy Marsden, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs B. E. 11. Whitcombe, Merivale. Miss Ivy Peters, Eltham, who has been the guest of Miss Steel, Spreydon, has returned home. Mr and Mrs Innes Clissold, who were the guests of Mrs F. Clissold, Timaru, have returned to Christchurch. Miss Josephine Elworthy, Timaru, who has been in Christchurch during Easter, returned home to-da)\ Miss G. Ryan, Riccarton, who has been on a visit to Wellington, has returned home. Miss Dorothy Read, Watford Street, is spending a short holiday in Auck? land. Miss Marion M’Crostie, Wellington, is visiting her parents, Harakeke Street. Mrs L. E. Ward, Wellington, is the guest of Canon and Mrs Stephen Parr, College House. Mrs A. Symmans, Eltham, Taranaki, who has been spending a holiday with her father, Mr John Steel, Spreydon, has returned home. Miss Cynthia Wilson, Bulls, a frequent visitor to Christchurch, left Wellington on Wednesday by the Tamaroa for England. Miss .Hodges, matron of Queen Mary Hospital, Hanmer Springs, has been spending a* few days in Christchurch before leaving a holiday in the North Island. Miss Shona Dampier-Crossley, who has been the guest of Miss Joan Cottrell, Merivale Lane, will leave to-day to spend the week-end with Mrs Leslie Maefarlane, North Canterbury, before returning home. Miss E. E. Andrews (New Plymouth) has been appointed leader of the delegation of four New Zealand women who will attend the fourth Pan-Pacific Women’s Conference, which will be held at Honolulu in August next. Miss Andrews is honorary secretary of the New Zealand Pan-Pacific Women’s Association. Canterbury visitors to the Wanaka Hotel, Pembroke during, last week were Mr and Mrs Maurice Maefarlane, Awapuni, Waikari, Miss Nancy Gibson, Mr and Mrs L. Andrews, Mrs W. Dawber and Misses F. Miss Diana Orbell, Levels, has returned from a visit to Christchurch. Dr and Mrs Hislop, Geraldine, are visiting friends in Picton. Mrs H. H. Dobie, Povnter Street, Blenheim, is visiting Timaru. Miss A. E. Neave, Christchurch, is a guest at the Criterion Hotel, Blenheim. Miss Betty Trewin, Oaro, is the guest of Miss Nora Firth, Circuit Street, St Albans. Barr)', Christchurch, who have been visiting relatives in Blenheim, have returned home. Miss’ Mary Loughnan has returned to Geraldine after a visit to Miss Halmai Loughnan, Avonside. Mr and Mrs W. L. Mitchell, Christchurch, are guests at Kelso, Sarah Street, Timaru. Mr and Mrs W. H. Walton and Miss Dorothy Walton, Park Lane, Timaru, have returned from a visit to the Franz Josef Glacier. Miss Nancy Grigg, Meadowbank, Marlborough, is visiting friends in Hawke’s Bay. Dr Beryl Lawrence, Bristol Street, has left to take up an appointment on the staff of the Napier General Hospital. Miss Diana Harris, Wellington, who has been the guest of Mrs Charles* Cooper, Brown’s Road, St Albans, has returned to the North Island. Miss Dulcie Fleetwood, Leinster Road, will leave on Thursday to spend a holiday in Hawke's Bay, where she will be the guest of Mrs Hector Smith, Napier. Miss Dorothy Harkness, Westport, who has been the guest of. Mrs J. Smythe, Wairarapa Terrace, during Easter, returned yesterday to the West Coast. Mrs A. J. Ilarrop and her two children, London, will arrive in Christchurch on Wednesday, and will visit Dr and Mrs Melville Aiken, Kaiapoi On Saturday Dr Harrop will come south from Wellington, and he and Mrs Harrop will be the guests of Dr and Mrs James Flight, Rugby Street, for a few days before leaving on i tour of the Southern Lakes.
