S.V.—lt is difficult to teach a dog road sense at eighteen months, for his training should have begun at the age of two months. The best plan now, however, would be to allow him as much freedom as possible around the house, so that he will not be so excited w’hen taken into the street. He could be taken into back streets where there is little traffic for a start. It is a mistake to take a dog un- „ used to traffic straight into a crowded street. Common sense enters largely into the matter, but the main thing is to give the dog as much experience of traffic as possible.—Editor 44 Star.” Argument.—On April 10. 1933. WarrantOfficer L. Agello, of the Italian Air Force, the only survivor of a little band of heroes, five of whom were killed in attempting to wrest the record from Britain, flew a Macchi-Castoldi seaplane with a Fiat engine at seven miles a minute. He averaged 426.5 m.p.h. for three flights over a measured mile at Lake Garda, breaking the record of 407.5 m.p.h. set up by Flight-Lieutenant G. H. Stainforth in 1931. —Editor, 44 Star.”
