WILL VETO BILL.
President Roosevelt Opposed to Inflation. CRITICISM OF SCHEME. United Press Assn. —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, March 15. Reiterating his determination to veto j the Veterans' Bonus Bill, if it passes the Senate, President Roosevelt made it clear that he was opposed to any sort of printing press mcney, as is being strongly agitated for in Congress. For the first time the President indicated that he realised some of the dangers that might result from some of the provisions of the Thcmas inflation amendment, if it is made operative. He considers that the proposal, which is for the issue of a quantity of noninterest bearing “ baby bonds.” to be retired by outstanding Government securities, is thoroughly sound and is not equivalent to currency inflation. Probably, however, he would not take such action on account of the fear that it would influence Congress to use it in greater quantities for other purposes.
