THE LEAGUE GAME.
Annual Meeting of Linwood Club. The annual meeting of the Linwoorl Rugby League Football Club was held last night in the club rooms. Ferry Road. .Mr J. Underwood presided over a good attendance of members. I Members stood in silence as a mark 1 of respect to th\s memory of two mem- ; hers of the club who had died during the preceding year, Messrs R. Fisher and W. Healey. Mr Healey had taken a keen interest in the club for many years, and had also held the position of chairman of the Canterbury Rugby League. The chairman said the club had enjoyed a fairly successful year, the senior team retaining the Gore Cup. The fourth grade team won the grade competition and the knock-out championship, the seventh grade team also being successful. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr E. Doyle; president, Mr H. Rogers; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. Underwood, B. Rogers, K. Coomber, R. Hoskins, Wilson, H. Rogers, H. Geary, W. Fletcher, Y. Bowley, W. Desmond. J. Chick, Messrs E. Healey, W. E. Desmond, J. Underwood. W. L. Desmond and B. Rogers, sen.: honorary secretary, Mr J. Underwood: honorary treasurer, Mr AN'. Rogers; club captain, Mr TV*. Rogers; deputy club captain, Mr J. Coomber; delegate to centre, Mr A. Jorgensen; delegate to Junior Advisory Board, Mr A. Clark; honorary auditors, Messrs .H. Rogers and H. Worsfold; trustees, Messrs B. Rogers, W. Desmond and W. Healey; club room steward, Mr H. AVorsfold; Management Committee. Messrs L. Messervey, M. Smith. W. Gibson, D. Carey and G. Beechnfer; Social Committee, Mesdames M. Smith,, H. Rogers, B. Rogers, J. Underwood, K. Coomber and Wilson; hospital reporter, Mr W. Rogers.
