OLD MAN INJURED.
Struggle Between Inmates of Home Alleged. SKULL FRACTURED. Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, February 19. An inmate of the Tuarangi Old Men's Home, Mr A. J. Ellen, aged fifty-nine, was admitted to hospital in a critical condition as the result of having fractured his skull. It is alleged that the injury. was caused by a blow received in a struggle with another inmate. An argument, it is stated, arose as to the closing of a window, and Ellen was struck on the head with a cribbage board, and received a pummelling. Ellen is a little man, and his alleged assailant, agel sixty-five years, is a big man.
