THREE INJURED.

Motor-car Hits Power Line Pole. TERRIFIC IMPACT. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, February IS. A father and his twin sons, aged eleven years, were injured when a motor-car in which they were riding crashed head-on into a power line pole at Western Springs to-day. Henry Steven, aged eleven years, received a fractured jaw and injuries to eye, face and head. His condition later was serious. His brother, Maurice, ' suffered a fractured jaw and injuries to the face, and his condition is not serious. The father, George Steven, aged forty-five years, a painter, of Grey Lynn, received concussion and a fractured kneecap. His condition is not serious. All three were taken to the Auckland Hospital. The car, which was travelling toward the city, mounted the kerb and struck the power pole with terrific force. The base of the pole was moved bodily about six inches. All the brass pieces carrying the wires were broken and a heavy insulator fell and was smashed. The bumper, the front axle and the steering rods of the car were bent like wire and the engine was forced back into the front compartment. The body was dislodged from its mounting and moved forward on the frame. The windscreen and several side windows were smashed. The body was so badly damaged that it had to be tied with rope like a huge parcel to prevent it falling to pieces while the car was being towed away.
