A public meeting will be held in the Civic Theatre on Sunday evening, the ISth instant, at 8 o’clock. The purpose of the meeting is to give representatives of the unemployed workers an opportunity of stating their case to the public, against the present policy of the Unemployment Board, and for more generous consideration and a better standard of living. A special appeal is made to the general public, and especially to the employed workers, to be present and thereby signify that they are not indifferent to the sufferings and hardships of the families who have to live on such meagre incomes. The Mayor will preside and the speakers will include Mr R. Semple, M.P., of Wellington. 1738
