THEFT OF BICYCLE PARTS.
The theft of parts from a bicycle left in a paddock two months ago, had a sequel in the Children’s Court this morning, when a small boy admitted stealing a wheel and tube. Since he was alreadv under the supervision of the Child Welfare Officer, as the result of an offence committed five weeks ago, the period of supervision was extended for one year. Mr H. A. Young was on the Bench, asd had with him Mrs T. Green and Mr W. M. West, J.P.’s. Another boy who was stated to have stolen a lamp bulb and generator from the bicycle, did not appear when his name was called, the case being adjourned until next Saturday. Senior-Sergeant Fox said that on November 8, the owner of the bicycle left it in a paddock, after a tyre had been punctured. When he returned in the evening a wheel and tube were missing. Two months later a constable interviewed the boy as the result of something he had heard and found that the stolen wheel was being used on the boy’s bike. The rim had been painted a different colour, but the wheel had not been damaged.
