Fast Work on New Brighton Course. EUREKA BOY’S PERFORMANCE. Weather conditions -were perfect for fast work at New Brighton this morning. The grass course was available, and the trestles were placed about halfway across the circuit. The extra distance which the horses were required to travel is assessed at five seconds to the mile. The star event of the morning was accomplished by Eureka Boy, who had Some Guy as a companion in a spin over one mile. Some Guy had one second advantage over Eureka Boy as they left on their journey, and was two lengths clear of his colleague at the half-mile post, which Some Guy reached in lmin 10 3-ssec. At the end of seven furlongs Eureka Boy got on terms with Some Guy, and, finishing well, beat him by a neck. Eureka Boy paced the eight furlongs in 2min 14 4-ssec, and Some Guy did 2min 15 4-ssec. Prince Harvester impressed by the manner in which he handled the grass track. He moved fast over the last few furlongs of his assignment. Nellota showed the way to Compass as they set out on a mile and a half journey, Indianapolis conceding Nellota 4 4-ssec. Nellota held the lead as they ran past the mile station in 2min 25sec, where Indianapolis got to within four lengths of his companions. On reaching the straight Indianapolis ran past his stable-mates to record 3min 31 1-5 sec for the twelve furlongs. Nellota and Compass arrived at their destination in Smin 36 l-ssec. Car] and Tiny Guy worked together for one mile and a half, where Tiny Guy was pulled up, and Carl went on to complete two miles. Both horses trotted solidly, but were not timed. A Useful Pair. Wise Guy and Jimmy de Oro were associated in a bout over one mile and a quarter. Jimmy de Oro made a bad break just after he had completed a furlong, but picked up his lost ground to be with Wise Guy at the top of the straight. In the run home. Jimmy de Oro beat Wise Guy by two lengths. Te Kinga paced his concluding four furlongs of his trip in lmin 14sec. Norman Fox marred his display by a bad break before reaching the halfmile peg. He was assisted by Fairyland in a two-mile essay. In the race over the last furlong Norman Fox beat Fairyland by a neck. They took smin 4sec. Chenwood, in saddle, dashed over four furlongs in lmin ssec. A Good Effort. Golden Dollar showed a clean pair of heels to Betty Wrack, Golden Cross, Tricliff, Grand Author and Vagabond King In a serviceable trial over one mile in 2min 19 2-ssec. Peter Parrish appeared to revel in the tasks apportioned him. With A. Butterfield in' the saddle, Desert Maiden paced a mile well in 2min 21sec\ taking lmin 14sec to cover her first four furlongs. She had the assistance of Royal Serene all the way. Elite Bingen, Recess, Mountain Dell, Red Flyer and Sunny Ducrow were worked together over one mile and a half. They raced in close formation all through the last mile, and at the finish Elite Bingen, Mountain Dell and Sunny Ducrow were almost in line, with Recess and Red Flyer just in behind them. Elite Bingen’s time was 3min 34sec. White Stranger, who took part in “ The Arcadians staged at the Theatre Royal last evening, was given useful tasks. He will return for his two performances on the stage this afternoon and this evening.
