WATERING FERNS.

If not watered carefully, ferns and other plants growing in baskets suspended in greenhouses or on verandahs are liable to become too dry at the root, even though the moss looks fresh and green from constant syringing. They should be taken down frequently and immersed in a bucket of water for half an hour, bv which means every part of Xhe soil is moistened.
