PLAINTIFF FAILS.
Compensation Case Sequel to Electrocution. (Special to the '* Star.”) HOKITIKA. February 16. A claim for £350 compensation, £2O funeral expenses and costs and other relief as considered just was made in the Arbitration Court to-dav in a case brought by Charles William Stoop against Callaghans Gold Mining Company, Ltd. Plaintiff’s son was electrolast March while engaged in working at the company’s mine driving a tunnel Evidence showed that plaintiff had already received insurance and a grant from a lodge, the total received being in excess of the assessed amount which he was entitled to claim. Judgment was given for defendant.
