AUCKLAND BUSINESS. (Special to the ** Star/’) AUCKLAND, February 17. There was a quieter tone on the Stock Exchange this morning, and three sales only was recorded. At the first call fresh bidding was steady, but there was little animation. In the Insurance section, South British seemed easier, and sellers dropped their reserves to 75s 9d Guarantee Corporation shares were quoted on a reduced capitalisation basis, with buyer at 3s 3d. The decline in Colonial Sugar appears to have been arrested, and there were buyers at £63, with holders asking 10s higher. Farmers* Trading Co. shares were in keen demand, and buyers’ offers of 4s 9d failed to attract holders. In the mining section the rise In King Solomons was checked, and there were sellers at the peak price of ss, with buyers stopping at 4s 9d. OTHER EXCHANGES. Per Press Association.
