POULTRY AND EGGS.
The Red Comb Egg and Poultry Co. report full pennings of poultry at both Saturday’s and Wednesday's auction sales. Some good lines came forward and bidding • throughout was brisk. For boilers, good quality chicken and turkeys prices were slightly in advance of last week. Pullets sold well. White Leghorns realising up -to 12s per pair. The market for ducklings is limited and the supply exceeds the demand. The average prices per pair were:—■ Roasting chicken, light, to 5s 3d; medium, to 7s; heavy, to 10s 6d; hens, light, to 3s 0d; ducklings, to 7s; goslings to 6s 9d; pullets, to 12s 6d. Turkeys is per lb live weight. Fggs—Tested, machine graded, guaranteed fresh first grade is 2d. . second grade Is Id per dozen. 6 Macfarlane and Co.’s Report. Messrs Macfnrlane and Co. report the following wholesale prices for eggs:— First grade, up to Is 2d a dozen; second grade. Is 1d
