Gatherings Held in Town and Suburbs. THEATRE AND SUPPER PARTY. Miss Rona Eldridge and Mr Martin Grantley were hostess and host at a theatre party held on Thursday evening at the final performance of “ The Merry Widow.” The guests were afterwards entertained in the “Annie Laurie” clubrooms at supper. Wright, of Rutland Street, St Albans. Ihe supper-room decorations were artistically carried out in shades of pink. Mr R. G. Woodward presented the guest of honour with the customary key. Mr C. Wright was M.C. Dancing was enjoyed by the guests, winners of competition dances being Miss Ruth Mitchell and Mr R. An enjoyable evening was given recently by Mrs P. Shernack, Picton Avenue, in honour of Miss Marvis Dick, Marshland, and Mr J. Ritchie, who are to be married on Monday. Bowls of gladioli and antirrhinums formed pleasing decorations. The hostess wore a smart frock of saxe-blue silk marothe bride-elect being in scarlet lace inset with georgette. Gifts of cups and saucers were brought by the guests for the bride’s future home. Messrs K. M’lntosh and W. Drummond were masters ceremonies. Games, Flag 500, dancing and competitions were enjoyed.
