DEPORTATION AIMED AT.
Ex-convict’s Short-lived Freedom. United Press Assn.—By Electric. Telegraph—Copyright. BOSTON, February 14. Charles Ponzi, whose fantastic financial manipulations a decade ago bilked investors of millions of dollars, was released from the State prison to-day after completing his seven-year sentence. His freedom was short-lived, however, and he was immediately rearrested for deportation to his birthplace, Parma, Italy. He was unable to supply the 1000 dollars bail required and was locked up at the immigration station until to-morrow. Ponzi said he would raise the money and start a legal fight against his deportation.
