Market Firm at High Point. SYDNEY, February 14. At the wool sales to-day 81S2 bales were offered and 7616 sold, while 1139 bales were sold privately. The market generally ruled at the best point of the week, but short and firmer descriptions, suited to the French demand sold distinctly inbuyers' favour. Greasy merino made to 27id. The average price realised in Sydney last week was £23 11s per bale or 19.4 d per lb. First Invercargill. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, February 14. Southland’s wool cheque for the first Invercargill sale, held a fortnight ago, amounts to £476,044. The average per bale works out at £l6 5s 2d and the average per lb 11.7 d.
