HORNBY-ISLINGTON NOTES.
The Hornby branch of the North Canterbury Labour Party held a meeting on Tuesday evening, Mr J. Basliford presiding over a. large attendance of members and supporters. Several speakers from the Labour Representation Committee were present and urged that organising work be commenced immediately m the event of a general election taking place in the near future. All in attendance at the meeting, numbering approximately fifty, pledged themselves to work in the interests of the official Labour candidate selected at the next general election. The meeting passed a resolution emphatically condemning the present Government’s unemployment policy.
