Returned Soldiers Pay Full Rates. There was hearty applause at the quarterly general meeting of members of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers’ Association last evening when Mr H. Fleck, chairman of the House Committee, stated that the men employed on the improvements to the club premises had been paid full union rates of wages. He said that the men had been selected from the ranks of unemployed returned men by the association’s employment officer, and the committee had refused to take advantage of cheap labour for the job.
