General inference—The principal factor controlling the weather is a moderate westerly depression, which is approaching from thv=> Tasman Sea. The anti-cyclone to the east is at last beginning to move away. Forecast—Moderate to strong north to north-west winds, backing to South-west to-night. Weather—Warm and sultry with rain in western ranges and becoming general, with a cool southerly change. Seas—Moderate.
