PROVINCIAL CHAMBERS.
Recognition of Work of Architect. Having discovered that the work of the late Mr B. W. Mountfort, architect of the Provincial-Council Buildings, has received no tangible recognition in Canterbury, Mr H. G. Ell has approached the Canterbury Pilgrims and Early Settlers’ Association, suggesting that it take up the matter. He has also suggested to the Provincial Council Buildings Trust that the arms of. Mr Mountfort be placed on the building in honour of his memory and as a compliment to his great work. The arms have been on the wall of the Sign of the Takahe for three or Tour years. Mrs Fora, a daughter of 'Mr Mountfort, who is living in Christchurch, recently wrote to Mr Ell expressing pleasure that her father’s work had been recognised.
