TRAMWAY BOARD.
General Business Before Members. The Christchurch Tramway Board met this afternoon. Present: The Rev J. K. Archer (chairman), Mrs E. R. M’Combs, M.P.. Messrs E. J. Howard, M.P.. J. Mathison, G. Manning, C. E. Jones, W. J. Walter, E. Par lane and G. T. Thurston. The Works and Traffic Committee was deputed to discuss a letter from the Unemployment Committee inviting the board to prepare a schedule of works for which subsidies might be asked similar to the building scheme. Mr Thurston said he was not in favour of the principle involved. A suggestion from Mr T. Hanafln for the provision of seats on the safety zone at the intersection of Cashel Street and Oxford Terrace was referred to the committee.
