General inference—The weather in New Zealand is still controlled mainly by an anti-cyclone centred near Chatham Island, which has increased somewhat in intensity. The cyclone located yesterday on the coast of New South Wales is apparently moving southwards, and is likely to miss New Zealand. The weather, however, should gradually become unsettled. Forecast—Moderate, but increasing northerly winds, later reaching gale force in places. Weather—Fair to fine, and warm to hot. Seas—Moderate, but becoming rough about Cook Strait.
