108 DAYS OF PRAYER.
Lamas Endeavour to Stop War. PEKIN, January 19. One hundred and eight days of continuous prayer for the preservation of the earth from war and natural catastrophe was begun by 108 Mongolian lamas to-day. The mass ceremony is taking place in the vast world-famed Bhuddist temple at Nehest. The Minister for War and other national leaders have contributed the requisite financial sup-, port. The foremost lamas prophesy that, despite the prolonged prayer, China and a number of other world Powers will be plunged into devastating war this year.
