Were Obliged to Attend Execution. VIENNA, January 17. The three judges who last week passed the first death sentence pro- 1 nounced in Austria since the founding | of the Republic, created a sensation to-day by making a joint application j for sick leave. They had been obliged to attend the J execution. J his step was found to be all the j more remarkable because it followed immediately on the resignation of the j executioner, who also gave ill-health as his reason.
