NEXT SATURDAY.
ST VALENTINE’S DAT. As usual we will observe this pretty old custom, and next Saturday we will have a valentine card to paint. -The one who paints it the best will be Aunt Hilda’s own valentine for the year. Book prizes will be given for:— (a) Best drawing. .(b) Best vilentiiie'wish. <c) Best va)entine verse. Entries close on Wednesday next, and the Page will appear next Saturday. Each entry will count for marks, also. AN INVITATION. Local Starlets are invited to join the “ Times ” and “ Star ” staff picnic, which will be held on Sunday, February 11, at Quail Island. Tickets are obtainable at the office—adults 2s 6d, children Is, which includes train and boat both. There are sports for the children, icecreams, sweets, soft drinks and fruit, all free, included in your ticket cost. The train leaves the city at 9 am.
