PARIS TAXI-MEN STRIKE.
Protest Against Increased Petrol Tax. s (Received February 3, 2.30 p.m.) PARIS, February 2. As a protest against the petrol tax, only 800 out of 7000 taxis were plying for hire yesterday. The strike has intensified, and now only 400 are running. Pickets art striving to lessen this number. Meanwhile, hundreds of strikers^are driving slowly around the chief centres, blocking traffic. They are immune from arrest while they keep moving. -
