“About Best Side Australia Could Have Chosen.”

(Continued from Page 1.)United Press Assn. —By Klectric ' Telegraph—Copyright. (Received February 1, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, January 31. There is enormous interest in the Australian team, which has been discussed everywhere. The newspapers are plastered with photographs, biographies and appreciations. The general opinion is that O’Reilly is Australia’s greatest hope and great gamble. If, as expected, he does better in England than in Australia, he may help Bradman to win the Tests. If he fails the attack possibly will collapse with a thud. Larwood, when interviewed, said that it was about the best side Australia could have chosen. O’Reilly was outstanding in the Australian attack, but he was surprised at the omission Of Richardson. Referring to his own chances he said that it was impossible to say hpw his foot would stand cricket. “ I have been advised not to try until I can get on the turf,” he said, “ and I shall stick to the surgeon’s advice.” (The selection is announced in a cable message on Page 1).
