LITTLE RIVER NOTES.
At the annual prize-giving at the Okutu School, Little River, items were contributed by the children to entertain visiting parents and friends. The prizes were presented by the chairman, Mr J. W. M’Gowan, each child receiving a gift. A special prize was awarded to Leslie M’Gowan for gardening, honour cards were awarded to Ngarie White, and a sewing prize, given by Mrs J. Patterson, was awarded to Ngarie White. The parents and committee presented the teacher, Miss C. Lewthwaite, with a Christmas gift in appreciation of her work during the year. The children also presented their teacher with a gift. A group of the Riccarton Boy Scouts, under Scoutmaster Hamilton, is at present camping on the property of Mr W. H. Montgomery, Little River. The camp will conclude tomorrow.
