CRICKET STAND SET ON FIRE
CALCUTTA, December 14. Incendiarists. believed to be Benga' students, set fire to-day to the nei stands erected at Eden Gardens, fo the forthcoming visit of the M.C.C team to Calcutta. Fortunately, the groundsmen notice< the fire before much damage was don and onlv an awning \\jls burnt. Polic are now guarding the ground. The motive is believed to be spit' because the local cricket associatio: was unable, owing to their grea height, to cover the stands and affon protection from the sun.
