Meeting of the Plunket Society. A meeting of the Hornby sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Parish Hall on Friday afternoon. The president. Mfs Huffadine, was in the chair, and members present were; Mesdames J. Smalley, A. Head, C. Woodham (secretary), A. Robinson, Gundersen, Roberts, Thomas and Marsden. Arrangements were made to hold a mothers’ afternoon on January 25. Monthly meetings were fixed for the third Thursday in each month. The president introduced Nurse Horne to the School Picnic. Over 350 people travelled to Corsair Bay to attend the Hornby School picnic on Saturday. The weather proved to r»e ideal for the occasion and the children thoroughly enjoyed their ••uting.
