A CHRISTENING MIX-UP.
Twin baby girls were baptised as boys at White Cross, Hexham. They are the children of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Armstrong. Shortly after they were born the family were told that the babies were twin boys, and suggested that as they did not look health3 r they should be christened immediThe Rev. J. N. Reid was summoned to the house and performed the christening
ceremony, giving the babies the names of Walter and Robert. Later, to the astonishment of the family, it was discovered that the twins were girls. The minister was called back to the house. He explained that he could not perform the ceremony over again, but he gave the children extra names, Ethel and Edith, and added the letter “a” to the Robert. The children, who turned out to be normally healthy, will now have to go* through life with the names Walter Ethel and Roberta Edith,
