ASSAULT CHARGE.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, December 8. Reserved judgment was gi\en to-ciay by Mr E. Page, S.M . on a charge of assault against John Hugh Marshall in connection with a dispute between Marshall and Robert Westley Botham ley, a solicitor and chairman of the Makara Countv Council. Mr Page said that there was no doubt an assault had been committed and imposed a fine of £5, which he increased at counsel's request to enable an appeal to be lodged, security for which was fixed at the amount of the fine. £5 Is, plus ten guineas.
