“ It’s a King ” Booked for
Civic.
The glorious musical romance, “ Tell Me To-night,” will I*3 shown finally tonight at the Civic Theatre. Starting to-morrow, at the Civic Theatre, British Dominions Films will present a further British comedy success, “It's a King.” With an all-star cast, headed by Sydney Howard, Britain’s king of comedians, and Joan Maude, daughter of the famous Cyril Maude, patrons can look forward to good clean comedy such as British stars can produce. After his performance in “Up For the Cup,” Sydney Howard requires no introduction, and when picture-goers are reminded of Joan Maude’s delightful appearance in the British success, “In a Monastery Harden,” one can realise why “It’s a King” has been classed as the British comedy success of the year. In this story of delightful nonsense. Albert King, an insurance agent, and King Albert, monarch of Nelgia, take holidays simultaneously. There is a striking resemblance between the two men. Mistaken identity places Sydney Howard in the role of King of Nelgia. Realising the mistake, the Chancellor of Nelgia launches the bewildered agent, dressed up in royal trappings, on a series of adventures from which he emerges as the saviour of the country and the rescuer of its monarch. “It’s a King ” is just the kind of entertainment that everyone can enjoy. Bright and breezy, this Sydney Howard feature is admirable fun from start to finish.
The first part of the programme will include Fix excellent supports: “ Afternoon Tease" (Ideal News), "City of St Albans," "Forestry in Australia,” “ Saw fly” (Gaumont News Reel). "Bells of Aberdovey ” and " An Old Garden ” (novelty). Box plans are now open at the theatre, where patrons may reserve at no extra fee.
