Misses Frances Bult am: Claire Dennis, took part in the second carnival in Auckland to-night. In the 220yds test race, Miss Balt assumed the lead from the start, and, swimming strongly, won without being extended bv five yards. 1-Jer time of 2mm 44 3-5 ec bettered the New Zealand re : >r 1 held •by Miss Marie Farquhar by 1 2-ssec. i Miss Mona Leyden was second ard Misses Farquhar and Edna Rainey deadi heated for thiid. Miss Bull also won j the 50yds scratch race by a yaid in i 28 2-ssec. This time equalled Miss Ena Stockley’s Dominion record. Miss Sylvia Grange was second, and Miss Rainey third. Although defeated .n the 100yds scratch race by J. Magee, the uckland men’s champion. Miss Dennis t imed the admiration of the spectators for a wonderfully plucky battle.
