WAR m’OV. The three-year-old pacer, War Buoy, will go out a hot favourite for the Saltaire Handicap at New Brighton, and he should win. He * H: He Great Burton has trotted good races at New Brighton, and she can see out a two-mile journey. Stanley Bingen should cause her most trouble over the last furlong. LIKES BRIGHTON. The speedy pacer Vagabond King has drawn number one at the barrier for the Bowhill Handicap at New Brighton to-morrow. He is a quick beginner and he will be hard to beat. He # afc * The fact of Attorney drawing number 30 at the starting barrier for the Improvers’ Handicap at New Brighton to-morrow will act as a deterrent to a number of backers who fancied him for the race. SHOULD WIN. Young Travis is a high-class novice, and provided he leaves the mark smoothly (and most likely he will) he should win the Improvers’ Handicap at New Brighton to-morrow. He * * y. On form. Wahnooka should keep Kotinga busy in the first race at New Brighton; in fact, he should beat her.

Norman Fox will strip one of the fittest horses at New Brighton tomorrow, and if the front markers make the pace slow in the early stages he may beat them. NEARLY DUE. The richly-bred mare Endurance is due to win a race, and if any of the novices are to upset the form horses in the Trial Handicap at New Brighton to-morrow, it most likely will be Endurance. y y He s*s The six-year-old gelding Mother’s Boy will have his quota of friends at New Brighton to-morrow. He is by Travis Axworthy from Evolution, and in his trial on the grass track at New Brighton last week he gave a good exhibition. * y * * Tangatu is a slow beginner, but he can stay, and this will stand to him in a real fight for first money in the Bowhill Handicap at New Brighton. The fact of his drawing eighth position at the barrier makes his task more difficult. TIER SPRTNT. A horse that can win a two-mile race is usually a difficult one to beat the next time out in a sprint. This applies to Erin’s Princess, who won a distance race at Addington at. the Cup meeting last month. She is engaged in the mile saddle race at New Brighton tomorrow, and should go a big race. He sjc He sfc Even from 48yds behind none will despise Royal Drusus in the big race at the New Brighton Trotting Club’s meeting. He is a much improved pacer and a real stayer. H« * * * If there is a horse in the Mace Memorial Handicap at New Brighton capable of upsetting calculations, it is t Giro. GA Y GOR DON FAVOU R K D. Following his good showing in the Methven Cup and his subsequent wins at Addington in November. Gay Gordon is certain to have a big following in the Mace Memorial Handicap at New Brighton to-morrow. Gay Gordon is a cut above the average in his class and is entitled to head the market. His third at Methven in 4min 23 2-ssec is evidence of his ability. AT NEW BRIGHTON. Training facilities at the New Brighton Trotting Club’s course have l»een appreciably improved. The addition to the training circuit has been completed, and it is an excellent job. This track is now over five furlongs in circumference, and the acute bends at the southern end have been done away with. The club is having several deep wells sunk at convenient parts of the grass course, and later a grass track will be completed on the inside of the , dirt circuit. This will provide trainers with splendid dirt and grass courses to work on, with the usual privileges to use the race track at certain periods of the year. H« He He * Although she has drawn ninth position at the starting post Kotinga will be among the best backed horses for the Trial Handicap at New Brighton to-morrow. At the same club’s meeting held on October 7, Kotinga ran a creditable third to Idanoe and Norman Fox. In that race she registered 3min 35sec. In to-morrow’s race she is in receipt of 48vds from Idanoe and 108 vds from Norman Fox. so she should i beat them easily. She will be coupled with Harvest Dillon, who has been working with Kotinga, and both trotters are in good order for immediate racing.
