Young Man Admits Theft of Bicycles. Ernest S treetley, aged 22 years, a tailor’s presser, residing in Ruskin Street, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court this morning to charges of stealing three bicycles, one valued at £lO belonging to George Gunn, another valued at £9, the property of Albert Bidgood, and the third valued at £7, the property of Keith Rutherford Wallace. He also pleaded guilty to stealing bicycle parts valued at £3 10s. Sub-Inspector Edwards stated that the bicycles had been taken from outside city premises and dismantled in each case. Mr Amodeo, for the accused, said that Streetley lived with his mother who was a cripple in poor circumstances. He helped her in the business of pressing clothes and with the house work. It was the first time he had been in trouble. Accused was remanded in custody for a week to allow the Probation Officer to report. Remand Granted. Eric Rhodes, a boot-finisher, aged twenty two years, residing in Breezes Road, and Adrien Chenot, an engineer, aged thirty-six. of Grantley Street, were charged with breaking and entering by day the dwelling of David Andrew Gunn, :*7. Grantley Street, and committing theft on or about November 19. They were remanded to apear on Tuesday next, bail being allowed in the sum Of ££loo and onfe surety of £IOO. Mr Russell appeared for Rhodes and Mr Amodeo for Chenot. Importuning.
