VERY ENCOURAGING.
Values at Auckland Wool Sale. The latest bulletin, prepared by the Department of Economics of Canterbury College and issued by the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, after reviewing the overseas trade of the Dominion, states: Wool prices in London are now about 80 per cent higher than those ruling in the 1932-33 season, and the values recorded at the recent Auckland sale are very encouraging. On the whole the volume of produce promises to be well maintained, and present conditions point to sterling prices appreciably higher than those of last season. The consequent expected increase in export values will be further added to in New Zealand by the fact that the exchange is now at a higher level. All these factors point to a substantial measure of recovery in New Zealand which should lead to an increase both in internal trade and in imports.
