COMEDY FOR CIVIC.

Sydney Howard Starred in “ It’s a King.”

It is with regret that the management announce the last two days of the beautiful film, “Tell Me To-night,” at the Civic Theatre. Jan Kiepura continues to entrance large audiences with his glorious voice, while the brilliant comedy of Sonnie Hale and Edmund tiwen has them simmering with laugliAnother big British Dominions sucSat'urday, in the comedy, "It's a King” with that most natural of all farceurs, Sydney Howard, as Albert King, an insurance agent who becomes "King Albert of Helgia” for twenty-four hours through a. case of mistaken identity. Albert King's trip to Helgia in search of sunshine and bathing belles landed him in considerable bother. Albert, the insurance man, bore a marked resemblance to King Albert of Helgia. At the frontier he was mistaken for that monarch, also on a holiday jaunt, and Helgia's scheming chancellor, realising the mistake, used it to serve his own ends. He launched the beyvildered agent, dressed up in royal trappings on a series of adventures from which he emerged as the saviour of the country and the rescuer of its monarch. The English press is unanimous in asserting that "this is one of the happiest, most nonsensical comedies, and the king of comedians is in his very best form with his ‘royal progess’ lined all the way with laughter.” Joan Maude, who appears as the Countess Yasma, is a daughter of the celebrated Cyril Maude and was last seen as the charming heroine of “In A Monastery Garden.” She is credited with presenting another excellent performance. An allstar cast has been selected to assist the leading artists and each member sends the fun ball rolling along at a merry pace. The first part of the programme will include the featurette gems “Afternoon Tease” fTdeal News). “City of St Albans.” “Saw Fly” fGaumont Xewsreel). "Bells of Aberdovey.” "Forestry in Australia” and "An Old Garden.”
