HALSWELL COUNCIL.
Only One Nomination for Vacancy. Nominations for the vacancy on the Halswell County Council closed at noon to-day, but onlv one, that of Hugh James Macartney, was received. Mr Macartney will, therefore, become a member of the County Council, taking the place left vacant through the resignation of Mr R. M. Morten as representative of the No. 3 tiding.
