TINWALD STOCK SALE.

(Special to the “Star.”) ASHBURTON, December 5. There was a short yarding of fat sheep at the Tinwald sale tc-day, including several pens of good prime ewes. For this class prices were slightly better than at Ashburton last week, but values cased towards the end of the sale. Mr T. J. Lamb (Hinds) topped me market with a pen of five woollv wethers at 2Ss 4d and three at 26s lOd. Shorn wethers realised up to 24s Od, this price going to Colonel Findlay (Eiffelton). while Mr C. G. West (Wakanui) secured up to 23s 7d. Prices for other sorts ranged from 15s 4d to 22s 7d. Colonel Findlay topped the # at ewe sales with three woollies at 25s lOd, while shorn ewes brought up to 22s id, Mr W. A. Sheate* (Westerfield) selling six at this figure and seven at 21s 4d. Other pens of prime quality realised from 16s Id to 21s Id. and medium from 11s lOd to 15s lOd. Prices for fat spring lambs ranged from 17s lOd to 21s 4d, Mr J. M. Oakley (Tinwald) selling two at the latter figure. There was a fair yarding of cattle. Fat steers made from £4 15? to E 7 12s 6d, fat heifers £4 3s to £5 7s 6d. fai cows £5 7s 6d to £6 17s fid, a Jersey cow coming to profit £6, yearling heifers 32s 6d. springer £3. and empty cow £5 3 os.
