LOAN OVERDUE.
Further Revelation* in U.S. Finance Inquiry. (Received December 5, 1.40 p.m) WASHINGTON, December 4. The records of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation revealed that a loan of 90,000.000 dollars from the corporation to the Central Republic Bank Trust Company, of Chicago, which now is in liquidation, and of which the former Vice-President, General Dawes, was head, matured on December 23, 1932. and had not been renewed. An unpaid balance of 62,158,000 dollars remained on the loan. It is considered that a technical default originally was made in the latter part of June, 1932. about two weeks after General Dawes resigned from the presidency of the Reconstruction Corporation in order to take over the affairs of the bank, which then was known to be in a shaky condition.
