The Christchurch Free Ambulance was the victim of a telephone hoax during the week-end. Answering a call from Lyttelton, the ambulance was out for two hours and travelled thirty miles searching for a non-existent “ Mr M’Glish ” in a non-existent “ Conhurst Street.” The call was especially annoying, as it came at 1.30 a.m. AmVfulance officials complain that they have answered bogus calls on several occasions recently.
