Mr Ulm 8 Minutes Longer on Trip. KINGSFORD SMITH'S FLIGHT. There was not a great deal of difference in the time taken by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith in the Southern Cross on January 11 last and that taken by Mr Ulm in the Faith in Australia, which landed at New Plymouth to-day. Sir Charles left Gerringong Beach, New South Wales, at 4.45 a.m. (New Zealand time) on January 11 and landed at Bell Block Aerodrome, New Plymouth, exactly at 7 o’clock the same evening, the trip having taken 14 hours 15 minutes. Mr Ulm left Richmond Aerodrome, Sydney at 7.27 last evening, and arrived at New Plymouth at 9.50 a.m. to-day, his trip having taken 14 hours 23 minutes, or eight minutes longer than that of Sir Charles.
