WILL NOT RETIRE.
Hon E. A. Ransom Denies Rumour. (“Star” Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, November 29. There is no truth in the rumour which recently gained currency that the Hon E. A. Ransom, Minister of Lands, is contemplating retirement from public life. “ It is the first I have heard of it, and I give the suggestion a most emphatic denial,” said the Minister to-day, when commenting on the subject. “ The last thought in my mind is abandonment of the duties which have always interested me, and which I afford me an opportunity of serving my fellow-men.” For a period earlier in the year, Mr Ransom suffered the effects of overwork and strain, and his health, as a result, became the concern of his associates. However, the Minister has now completely recuperated, and, as he himself expressed it, is looking forward with enthusiastic anticipation to the development of the major land policies which he has enunciated.
