Understanding Sought With Dominions. QUESTION OF IMPORTS. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received November 29, 10 am.) LONDON, November 28. The National Farmers’ Union has asked the Government to seek an understanding with the Dominions in respect to quantitative regulation of cheese and other dairy produce imports, with immediate legislation compelling the importers of milk products to pay a levy from the fund to compensate the British dairy farmers. The union contends that the levy does not violate the Ottawa Agreement as it already applies to milk marketing. FOREIGN FRUIT QUOTA. (Received November 29, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 28. In the House of Commons, Sir Walter Runciman promised to consider thet possibility of imposing a quota on foreign oranges, which, despite a dut yof 3s 6d a hundredweight, were landing to the detriment of Dominion and colonial fruit. He admitted that no power to act in the matter existed at present.
