LOAN OF £22,000.
Application to be Made by City Council. The Christchurch City Council is making application to the Local Government Loans Board for authority to raise a supplementary roading loan of £22,000, out of which it is proposed to provide for the reconstruction of Riccarton Avenue. If the Loans Board sanctions the loan a poll of the ratepayers will not be necessary as the council is entitled to raise a 10 per cent additional amount, if required, under the authority granted to it by the ratepayers when the £220,000 roading loan proposal was carried some years ago. The Town Clerk (Mr J. S. Neville), who left for Wellington last evening, will wait on the Loans Board in connection with the matter.
